On October 11, 2022, during the practical day of the ICAR congress, the member countries Croatia and Switzerland had the opportunity to present cave rescue techniques.
After a short welcome to the workshop participants by Andy Scheurer on behalf of ECRA, four members of the Speleo-Secours Switzerland demonstrated three different counter-weight lifting methods, commented by Danijel Frleta. During the re-rigging from the French to the Italian lifting system, additional information about the remits of ECRA were provided and when changing to the US system the 2 country organisations were introduced.
A lot of appreciative feedback was received, acknowledging the differences between cave and mountain rescue.
