We are pleased to officially announce the date and location of the upcoming 19th ECRA Meeting.
Dates
Pre ECRA Meeting: 26 September – 1 October 2026
Main Meeting: 1–4 October 2026
Location
The meeting will take place in spectacular town Kranj, Slovenia – the capital of the Slovenian Alps.
Kranj [ˈkɾàːn] is the fourth-largest city in Slovenia and the largest urban centre of the traditional region of Upper Carniola (northwestern Slovenia) and the Slovene Alps. It is located approximately 20 kilometers northwest of the capital Ljubljana. The nucleus of the city is a well-preserved medieval old town, protected as a cultural monument since 1983, built at the confluence of the Kokra and Sava rivers.
In Kranj, the Kokra cuts deeply into the conglomerate, forming a canyon 40 meters deep. Kosorep, on the northern outskirts of Kranj, is a picturesque site along the river. Parts of the canyon can be reached by a walking trail. Below Kranj, at Drulovka, the Sava forms a 40-meter deep canyon with conglomerate on both sides.
Pre-meeting program includes visit of caves, including Škocjan Caves (Unesco World Heritage Site), diving, canyoning, hiking. Further details regarding the event will be provided in the First Circular.
Please note the date for the ECRA meeting in your diary! We look forward to welcoming you to Kranj in 2026.
