About Moroccan Cave Rescue Association
Since 2018, the Moroccan Cave Rescue Association has been building a specialized team of over thirty rescuers, including experts with more than 25 years of experience in cave exploration and rescue operations.
We have enhanced our field capabilities through three advanced training courses with the British Cave Rescue Council (BCRC), using equipment and techniques that meet international standards.
Morocco is home to over 2,500 caves, requiring constant readiness and preparedness for any rescue operation.
Our team has successfully conducted two field rescue operations in collaboration with the Moroccan Red Crescent and the Royal Gendarmerie:
- The first operation took place in Tamershalt Cave on October 29, 2022,
- The second operation took place in Shaara Cave on December 15, 2024.
Both operations were documented with reports, photos, and video footage, reflecting the team’s professionalism and commitment to the highest safety standards.
We are the first association specialized in cave rescue in Africa and continue to develop our expertise and techniques to serve this rare humanitarian and rescue field with dedication and professionalism.
